Off-Season free agency
A) Off-Season free agency follows the same bidding process of ,
- The minimum starting bid on a player is $500K.
- The maximum starting bid is $5.0M
- The minimum bid (after starting bids) is $100K
- The maximum bid (after starting bid) is $1.0M
- You can only have 5 high bids at time.
- You may not exceed your available cap space.
- You win a player after being high bidder for 24 hours.
- If a player is signed for $10 million or more a minimum contract of 2 years is required.
- 20 million is a max salary for a player
- You will have 24 hours to assign a contract after you win a player. If you do not post a contract a default contract of 1 year will be assigned. If the player signs for more than $10 million a default contract of 2 years will be assigned.
- When you win a player you must have room on your roster to add him. If you do not have room you will be required to perform waivers or a trade to make room to add the free agent. This will need to happen within 24 hours of assigning a contract.
- You can assign contract years from 1 year to 4 years. If you sign a player for 10 million or more a 2 year contract is required.
B) Matching;
- Teams can match up to two contracts of their 3 assigned ' matching players'
- Matching teams will have up to 24 hours to decide to match or decline contracts after the auction has been won by another team.
- Contract decision clock starts after the matching owner has decided to decline or match (or if 24 hour passes with no decision).
- If one of your matching players hasn't been nominated and you wish to match him, the owner must start the auction for the player. Any players not nominated in matching will move to the unrestricted free agency rounds of their position.
- You can assign up to 3 option contracts per off-season. You can only have 3 option contracts on your roster.
D) Option contracts;
- Each team is allowed up to 3 option contracts each off-season.
- Option contracts are option years that the team has on a player and can be broken down into any combination of 4 years or less at your discretion, meaning 1yr + 1yr, 1yr + 2yrs, 1yr + 3yrs, 2yrs + 1yr, 2yrs + 2yrs, 3yrs + 1yr. There is a maximum of 7 option contracts at one time per team.
